Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
